PMC, the reference loudspeaker brand trusted by leading music, film and broadcast studios worldwide, has unveiled its all-new Main Monitor models at NAMM 2026. Marking the company\u2019s 35th anniversary, this launch represents PMC\u2019s first complete reinvention of its main monitoring systems in more than three decades and the most substantial advancement since the range was last updated ten years ago.<\/p>\n
Designed from the ground up and built entirely in-house, the new series reflects PMC\u2019s longstanding collaboration with the world\u2019s highest-level recording, scoring and postproduction facilities. The latest designs advance every aspect of monitor performance \u2014 driver technology, system architecture and software control \u2014 to deliver exceptional clarity, lower distortion and significantly increased headroom for modern music and film workflows, including spatial and immersive audio.<\/p>\n
At the foundation of the system is PMC\u2019s latest generation of large-format bass drivers, created to work in harmony with an evolved ATL\u2122 bass-loading system and LaminairX\u2122 airflow technology. Featuring heavily vented motor assemblies, dual-spider suspensions and triple-wound voice coils offering up to 36mm of linear excursion \u2014 more than triple the previous generation \u2014 these drivers deliver highly controlled, natural low-frequency reproduction, even at the highest output levels.<\/p>\n
The all-new hand-built and highly innovative PMC75v3 soft-dome driver delivers the midrange and incorporates the proprietary a-void\u2122 absorber. This long, damped acoustic chamber prevents rear-wave reflections from colouring the output. This reduces distortion, improves transient accuracy, and contributes to an exceptionally open and truthful midrange. Further enhancing this driver is PMC\u2019s proprietary n-compass\u2122 dual-profile waveguide, which ensures smooth, wide dispersion through the crossover region, preserving a stable soundstage across a vast listening area.<\/p>\n
High-frequency reproduction is provided by PMC\u2019s hand-built 34mm soft-dome HF driver. With its low-distortion motor assembly, matched dome and shallow waveguide, it offers extended, fatigue-free listening and a natural in-room response \u2014 essential for long mixing and mastering sessions.<\/p>\n
Every model in the Main Monitor Series is powered and controlled through PMC\u2019s latest DSP and amplifier platform, centred around the updated SoundAlign2\u2122 software environment and the new master36 system controller. Using any standard web browser, engineers can configure individual monitors or entire systems for room integration, EQ, delay, polarity, crossover optimisation and preset management, with up to 32 loudspeakers managed within a single installation. The master36 \u2014 a compact 3U unit \u2014 combines advanced 32-bit DSP crossover processing with high-efficiency amplification, providing flexible analogue and digital inputs, full network control and six Class-D amplifiers delivering a total of 3600W for precise, consistent performance across the range. For larger installations and dual-cabinet configurations, the power20 adds a state-of-the-art 2000W Class-D amplifier in a matching 3U chassis, driving the bass units in XBD systems and selected low-frequency sections in the PMC10-4, PMC10-4 XBD and PMC15 XBD. Together, SoundAlign2, the master36, and the Power20 deliver the headroom, accuracy, and seamless integration required for today\u2019s most demanding multichannel and immersive monitoring environments.<\/p>\n
The Main Monitor Series launches with four models \u2014 the PMC10, PMC12, PMC15 and PMC10- 4 \u2014 each a fully active 3-way design based on PMC\u2019s new driver platform and ATL\u2122 architecture. All can be used as standalone full-range monitors or expanded with matching XBD cabinets, which add a dedicated LF enclosure for increased bass headroom and system scalability. Additionally, there are matching standalone Subs that use the same driver complement and cabinets. This modular approach enables engineers to tailor systems for a wide range of room sizes and formats, from compact single-tower installations to high-power XBD configurations and large multichannel arrays. Thanks to consistent dispersion characteristics and shared voicing across the range, models can be combined seamlessly in immersive environments, including Dolby Atmos\u00ae Music rooms.<\/p>\n
